World Community Service
The World Community Service Committee is one of Rotary International’s nine structured programs designed to help clubs and districts achieve service goals in their communities and in communities abroad. Many opportunities are available to Rotarians to get involved in international fellowship through humanitarian Matching Grants projects.

The WCS process for helping clubs participate and support projects is the Adopt-A-Village (AAV) program. The district supports projects that meet the criteria established by Rotary International. Unique in it’s conception but structured under the Rotary Code of Policies, AAV projects begin with our club members. These Rotarians become champions to guide and assist our district clubs in selecting a humanitarian project, presenting AAV projects at a club meeting and/or putting a personal touch to the project. In addition, the champion communicates with the international Rotary partner who will guide and support the project on site. This is the key to making sure that whatever is given in terms of financial support, donations-in-kind or volunteer support is used to help the people in need.
Please e-mail or call to find out how to get involved our District projects.
All clubs are encouraged to let us know about the WCS projects they have adopted or are planning. These projects will help us determine where the committee can be of assistance to the clubs. We encourage clubs to join together in developing projects for matching grants with the target of sponsoring projects in the $10,000 to $25,000 range to be a part of the Adopt-a-Village initiative.
