USA TEAM DEPARTS TO AUSTRIA: April 27-May 26, 2009
EUROPEAN TEAM ARRIVES USA: APRIL 17-MAY 18, 2009
Our District sends Group Study Exchange Teams abroad and we host a team in alternating years. As the name indicates, the exchange is like a trade of teams. The purpose is to sponsor a work team of young professionals who will learn about their field from their experience in another country. The GSE program is one of Rotary's gemstones funded by Rotarians througout the world throught their contributions to the Rotary Foundation. In 2009 the exchange is with D-1910- in Eastern Austria, Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia.
1. We are seeking qualifed team leaders. The Team Leader is a Rotarian in Good standing. Applications are being accepted from now through September 1, 2008. See

2. We are seeking applicants for team members. The team members must be professionals between the ages of 25-40 and be NON-ROTARIANS. The team members must be sponsored by one of the clubs in our district and successfully complete the application and interview process.
Interested professionals from our district may apply using the attached form.
APPLICATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED FROM NOW THROUGH OCTOBER 1, 2008.

3. WE ARE SEEKING HOST CLUBS TO SPONSOR THE INCOMING EUROPEAN TEAM.
Each club will be responsible for 1 week of activities. 5 Rotarian Host families are needed per club. Each club would assign a GSE coordinator to work with the GSE Chair in developing the itinerary for the club's week of hosting. If you are a small club-- we may be able to work with other clubs in your area and do joint hosting.
If your club is interested in hosting-- please contact me no later than September 15, 2008.
4. IS YOUR CLUB INTERESTED IN FINDING OUT MORE ABOUT THE GROUP STUDY EXCHANGE AND WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A PROGRAM AT ONE OF YOUR MEETINGS?? Our USA Team that traveled to Brazil is now scheduling presentations at clubs. Additionally , a member of the District Group Study Exchange Committee will be happy to meet with members of your club to talk about the responsibilities of hosting and participating in the Group Study Exchange.
