The Rotary Leadership Institute ---------

The Leadership Institute is a series of one-day training seminars that are designed to help improve the Rotary knowledge and leadership skills of the future leaders in a rotary club.  The Institute provides an educational opportunity for Rotarians who already are or would like to be leaders in their Rotary Club.  The programs are not simply for existing or future presidents, they are for new members and "old timers" as well.  Anyone who wants to know more about the marvelous world of Rotary should attend.

The Institute offers a leadership development program in three full day sessions (Parts I, II and III) that must be taken in consecutive order at any combination of meeting sites.   The courses are designed to provide Rotary knowledge and to develop leadership skills for volunteer organizations.  Participants should have a strong interest in Rotary and be ready to be exposed to the larger world of Rotary.  The Institute suggests that each club select and send at least one or two Rotarians every year as well as support previous participants in their completion of Parts II and III.

The course fees run between $70.00 and $95.00 per registrant per day depending on the location.   The fees include breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks and materials as well as meeting space and audiovisual needs.  Since the participants are giving up their time, we strongly suggest that the clubs pay the fees for their participants.

Your club will want the best leadership possible.  This is an outstanding program that has been available in Zones 31 and 32 for more than seven (7) years and has been endorsed by this year's RI President Wilf Wilkinson  as well as our District Governor, Gerry Long.

A letter from our District Chair, Bill Palmer

December 10, 2007

Dear Rotarians:

The RLI is a multi-district project which started in our Zone 32 and has now spread across the U.S. and throughout more than 123 districts and 60 countries of the Rotary world. The purpose of the RLI is to provide an educational opportunity for ANY member of your club that is interested in learning more about Rotary.    Your District Leadership Team urges you to send your incoming club officers to all three parts, and to send ALL of your NEW and OLD  members to at least Part I.   It is a  wonderful and effective member retention tool.

Remember: The more you find our about Rotary, the more you love it!   Help some one else catch the Rotary passion.

If you need any additional information please call or e-mail me.

Yours in Rotary Service,  Bill Palmer
