Recovery from Addiction is not only possible, it's powerful.  In this video, Committee member and District Magistrate Andrea Duffy (Montgo-New Britian) shares thoughts from her courtroom and how Rotarians can learn more about the healing power of recovery.

Join us on 11/20 at the Drug Addiction and Resource Alliance event to hear the inspiring stories of many who have passed through her courtroom and overcome addiction, rebuilt their futures, and discovered the healing power of recovery.  For further information, contact Andrea at hudakduff@aol.com.

Suicide Prevention —a time to raise awareness, promote hope, and normalize help-seeking. Suicide affects millions of people every year, yet too many struggle in silence. Whether you’re facing challenges, supporting a friend or loved one, or are looking to help, your voice matters.

Here’s your People of Action Opportunity!
Participate in an “Out of Darkness Walk” hosted by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Go to https://afspwalks.donordrive.com/OOTDWalks to register for: Sunday  October 5th   Greater Lehigh Valley Walk     Lehigh Parkway, Allentown

It would be a great club activity for members to join together and walk to raise awareness and funds that go toward education programs, advocacy efforts, and scientific research that reveals how we can save more lives.  Take a picture of your team and share it on Facebook, and let the public know that Rotary members are committed to reducing the stigma attached to discussing mental health and stand as allies for individuals on their mental health journey.

Recognize the warning signs for suicide, encouraging open conversations about mental health, and connecting people to proven treatment and resources. When we stand together in strength, dignity, hope, and purpose, we can make a difference, we can help save lives. Here is a link to some suicide prevention materials: https://www.samhsa.gov/mental-health/suicidal-behavior/warning-signs
