“Welcome Aboard!” That’s my welcome to you for the 2021-2022 Rotary year and it’s also the new name of our District 7430 newsletter. This month our video highlights Rotary’s theme, “Serve to Change Lives” and looks at Literacy Month through a project of the West Reading/Wyomissing Rotary Club known as “Little Free Libraries.” Maybe you will be inspired to do a similar service project. 

We begin every Rotary year by establishing our District and Club goals. This year those goals reflect the goals of Rotary International. Do you know your Club goals?  Here are some of our District goals:


Increase our Impact:

  1. Raise $50,000 through the Purple Pinkie Race to Zero 
  2. Raise Annual Fund support in the amount of $200,000
  3. Advance and follow-up media for 15 District grant projects
  4. Advance and follow-up media for 15 Club-funded projects

Expand Our Reach:

  1. Increase existing Club membership by 70 net 30
  1. Add 2 new Clubs and 2 Satellite Clubs
  2. DEI introduction in 13 Clubs
  3. Use of Learning Center tools on Club Assessment and Welcoming Clubs in 23 Clubs

Enhance Participant Engagement:

  1. Add 2 Rotaract Clubs
  2. Add 2 Interact Clubs
  3. Develop Virtual Youth Exchange
  4. Develop STEM YEA Camp for 2022-2023 

Increase Our Ability to Adapt:

  1. “Rotary Days of Service” completed in 25 Clubs
  2. Training to conduct in-person, virtual and hybrid Club meetings
  3. Training in best practices for leadership succession planning
  4. Training in COVID-compliant fundraising and service projects
